S.T.A.R. Training Program Funding |
Many times animals come into the shelter never having been exposed to any basic obedience training or may need a refresher.
DuPage Animal Friends' donors fund a program called S.T.A.R. (Structured Training and Reinforcement) where dogs work with trained handlers to encourage and reinforce positive behavior. S.T.A.R. training increases a dog's potential for adoption and decreases the likelihood of a returned adoption, thus setting the tone for a positive dog/owner relationship. It also provides much needed mental stimulus from kennel life. |
DuPage County Animal Services provides the community with a valuable service in caring for abandoned and unwanted pets.
Your gift is crucial in providing progressive care for the homeless animals in the community so that they may find their second chance at a happy and healthy life. |
