Cash

Cash is the easiest way to contribute and qualifies for the maximum allowable income tax deduction.

Bequests

Bequests allow for your charitable intentions to be carried out in perpetuity and can significantly reduce the taxes otherwise payable on your estate. The following language is needed to make an estate gift for DuPage Animal Friends (if you already have a will, the following can be added as a codicil):

“To DuPage Animal Friends, EIN# 20-4578224, with offices presently located at 120 N. County Farm Road in Wheaton, I hereby give _______ for use in its animal welfare, education or animal care efforts.”

Real Estate

Gift your home to DuPage Animal Friends and continue to enjoy your home as long as you live. Your home will be given at its current market value allowing you to receive a full charitable deduction and avoid capital gains taxes. Should you decide to move, proceeds from the sale of your home will benefit DuPage Animal Friends

Life insurance can be used to create a major gift in one of two ways:

Securities

Appreciated stocks and bonds may be gifted to DuPage Animal Friends, EIN# 20-4578224. This allows you to deduct their current market value as a charitable contribution and avoid capital gains tax on the appreciation.

Charitable Trust

You can create a charitable trust. You receive income from it for life, or for a specified period of time, while gifting the remainder to DuPage Animal Friends. Types of trusts include:
